Melanie Oberg: The Anderson Experience

If I said I didn’t see it coming I’d be lying. Maybe I was just hopeful there was some sense of decency in people, or I was naïve enough to believe that I’d have some control over my own words.

I got the call to appear on the Anderson Cooper show on a Tuesday morning, and within a few hours I was on a plane to New York. I was told the show topic would be about the outrage to the TLC “All American Muslim” show. (not “confronting our fears”—REALLY?! ) They wanted me to discuss the Facebook Boycott TLC movement. I’m not a fool. I expected a spin—Anderson Cooper is not exactly known for his conservative journalism. I didn’t care. This was big and a chance on regular network TV to talk about the invasion of the Muslims. I was pretty sure I could hold my own; however I was also told I would not be the only person on the show outraged at TLC.

Going to New York was incredible. My first time there, I was very excited. Appearing as a guest on the show I got star treatment- hair, make-up, dressing room, driver, hotel, the whole nine. (After the show I went to Ground Zero and in the proposed Ground Zero mosque, which was very, very important to me--something I had been hoping to do forever)

As a last minute decision, I was moved to a seat in the featured part of the audience and told it would be a better position for me. I was a little nervous, of course, but maintained my cool as the show started… and they brought out the actors playing Muslims on TLC. Tattoos, leather pants, face piercings… not exactly what Mohammad had in mind.

Anderson’s loyalty to the cast of A-AM was clear. I hardly got 4 words in without being asked another question to corner me throughout the whole show.

The full version of the show included me talking about how muslims have silenced free speech in Dearborn at the arab festival. Anderson said I was wrong and that it was a private event, he had seen the video himself!! In reality, he was wrong and it was taken out of the show, I’m assuming for that reason.

I talked about how I have debated muslims time and again on these issues and they do want to dominate not assimilate. At one point I pleaded with the entire audience to do their own research on what Muslims are doing in America and to look at what is going on in England and France as a predictor of what was going to happen here—I urged them to go to YouTube and listen to Muslims in their OWN WORDS, as that is what had convinced me of true Islam.

The full version of the show also included my good friend Michael who called in over skype, and started his comments by stating he had read the Qur’an cover to cover (as they were fixated that I honestly answered I hadn’t) the Hadiths, and many muslim textbooks, and come to the same conclusion I had. Conveniently, they started him speaking at just where he stated he ‘liked’ my facebook page, and left out his qualifications. They only let him speak once.

I’ve watched the show back twice now, and I stand firm on my positions. On the stage was not Islam, so it was more than a little tricky to debate. However, at one point I asked a direct question to the girl in the hijab. I stated how the prophet Mohammad was a pedophile and murderer and asked if she followed his commands, to which she answered “yes, 100%” somehow Anderson overlooked this crucial statement (and many others) . They also all stated there was no violence in the Qur’an. Seriously?! A little Taqiyya there for ya….I’d list the 100 violent verses here for reference, but that would make this article extremely long, and every good anti-jihadi knows them anyway.

Did I mention the big shocker? After I got home I reached out to Pamela Geller—and we had a nice long chat. I told her how I was railroaded on the show….and she told me that she had been scheduled for the show, and cancelled last minute. A few hours before my plane landed, actually. WHAT!?Why?! The studio claimed they didn’t have enough time for Pamela. Funny, I remember the studio promising me that I wouldn’t be alone, and scrambling to get my friends to come on with me. But we all know the truth. Pamela Geller would have exposed the show and Islam monumentally better than I could have. She didn’t meet the needs of their agenda.

So many people have asked me why I put myself in this position. Simply put, if we want to win the war with Islam, we have to get everyone on board, not just the conservatives. In other words, we can’t keep talking to each other. TLC’s whitewash of Islam presented to people who are impressionable is potentially disastrous for this country. Imagine all the impressionable teens looking at how “cool” it is to be a muslim. If only they would know how hard it is to get out once you’re sucked in.

I will not be silent or silenced. So, I took one for the team. I’m not sorry I did it. The point was not to make friends and have everyone like me in TV land, but to use the platform I was given to nationally address Anderson’s one million viewers and MAKE.THEM.THINK. And it has. The boycott is working. The facebook ‘likes’ have doubled since last week, Anderson’s website and facebook pages are flooded with comments and open debates on the issues. In fact, this appears to be the most interaction as far back as I can see on an Anderson episode.

We have also been writing letters to the advertisers of the All American Muslm show and pressuring them to withdraw their financial support…and low and behold…Sweet & Low & Home Depot has come back from the dark side.

I am sorry that I didn’t get to say a lot more, and even sorrier that they made the playing field even more unleveled by editing out everything that countered their propaganda. I’m sure they will stand firm they edited my statements due to”time”. The reality of this is, Anderson’s whitewash of “All American Muslim” is just as bad as TLC’s. But, that is liberal tv for ya… Till next time….

The Future of Defend Freedom

For the last month or so, I've been canceling my Saturday internet radio show, slacking off on posts for Fatwa On Islam, have mostly abandoned my Facebook pages, my YouTube channel has been all but forgotten, and I have been quiet (by my standards) on my personal Facebook profile as well...

No, I haven't suddenly become a lazy puke and joined the Occupy-morons or anything along those lines. It's as simple as, the time I would typically direct to those endeavors has been redirected to things like evaluating software components, coming up with logos, designing web pages, writing code, creating databases, and a bunch of other technical junk.

Because I've been using up most of my free time trying to get DF off the ground from a technical perspective, I've been pretty short on time to elucidate my vision for Defend Freedom in any tangible way. A few people have heard bits and pieces, but really I've not laid it all out to anyone. That's the purpose for this post. I want to take a timeout and explain what I'm thinking and where it's all headed.

What is Defend Freedom?

Defend Freedom is the simple mission statement and singular objective for a range of complementary initiatives. The common goals of all DF initiatives are to assist the masses in understanding the threat of Islam, make all sorts of hell for the Islamists, and help win the information war.

Defend Freedom Website(s)

The intent of the DF website(s) is to provide a portal into the collective knowledge of the counter-jihad and the latest news on all things Islamofascsim.

Kuffar-Akbar! searches across a growing list of counter-Jihad sites.
Hades Gateway searches Islamic texts, theological writings, and legal opinions.
Islam In The News displays keyword search results from various news services.
Freedom Network displays the latest headlines from member sites.
Defend Freedom consolidates the latest from all DF blogs.

Freedom Network

The Islamists have their global networks of Jihadi organizations and millions of supporters. Their ability to bring together Muslims from all over the world dedicated to the cause of world-wide Islamofascism has been a cornerstone of the Islamists success.

Freedom Network will hopefully grow to be the kuffar (infidels) answer. Bare Naked Islam, Logan's Warning, Vin Ienco, and Fatwa On Islam are first members of the network. I'll be sending out more invites. but, if you're reading this, have a counter-jihad site, and want to be listed as a member, don't wait on me. Email me (jarrad@fatwaonislam.com) with the url of your site and I'll send out the details.

Freedom Radio

Freedom Radio will provide regular news updates, investigative reports, and other talk radio formatted content.

DF-TV

DF-TV will provide the video content for Defend Freedom. DF-TV will have a main video channel, consisting of videos produced by as many of the talented anti-Islam video ranters and commentators as I can talk into posting regularly.

In addition to the main DF channel, DF-TV will also provide a YouTube like experience for regular users and their videos. However, instead of deleting anti-Islam videos, as is the standard operating procedure at YouTube, such videos will be desired and protected from the nefarious forces of social media Jihad.

DF-Tech

I've been part of the counter-jihad for more than a year and a half. And I, like many others, have been persecuted and attacked on social networks by Muhammad's subversive minions. Unfortunately, for the Muslims, I have years of experience designing large software systems, and I specialize in security matters. DF-Tech will produce software solutions to some of the problems faced by those in the counter-jihad.

Likely, the first DF-Tech product be a troll tracking service that is integrated into Facebook, Twitter, and hopefully Google+ (I've not read the developer docs & don't know what's up with Google+ yet).

And while the troll tracking system is more of a defensive mechanism against a common attack vector, I have already envisioned the first piece of offensive DF-Tech. The details of which I'm keeping between me and a few others. I don't want info getting out as to what it will target and how it will operate. Really, I just want to make it known it's coming, and give the Muslims something to worry about. :)

Well, I think that covers most of the technical side of Defend Freedom. There will also be all sorts of opportunities for people to volunteer to be part of Defend Freedom initiatives. Outside of the technical endeavors, I also intend for Defend Freedom political pressure groups, DF groups on college campuses, and more.

There's a lot of work involved to take the vision and make it a reality. I imagine the whole process will take months. As has been the case up to this point, I will continue to make pieces available as I complete them.

BTW, the timeline can be accelerated based on available technical resources. If you are a programmer/engineer and want to donate some time and help out, things can be done more quickly. Feel free to volunteer. I'm not married to any particular tech. I personally write in C++, C#, VB.Net, and tend toward Asp.Net for a web programming paradigm, but whatever language/paradigm gets er done is fine by me.
